K-12 Courses

For the 2011-2012 school year, Woodruff Academy is providing the following courses at its Winter Park campus:

Core Curriculum

American History
9th - 12th grades
Focuses on the American colonization, founding, and history as viewed from a Christian perspective.

Florida History
6th - 8th grades
Middle school students will learn all about our great state's history, from pre-Columbian life to the present day.

Beakers Chemistry
9th - 12th grades taught by Mrs. Dana Holladay
Experiments and hands-on activities are provided throughout the year.

Math
6th - 12th grades taught by Mr. Morgan Busch and Mrs. Dana Holladay
Students progress at their own pace using Math-U-See home school books and lesson DVDs.

English
6th - 12th grades taught by Mrs. June Sullivan
Students learn through reading literature and consistent writing activities.

Elementary
K - 5th grades taught by Mrs. Kathleen Garris
Includes math, language arts, science, and social studies


Electives

Dance
6th - 12th grades taught by Mrs. Kate Williams
Middle and High School students will learn a variety of different dancing styles, from folk to modern. Students regularly get opportunities to perform at school activities and functions.

Art
6th - 12th grades taught by Mrs. Regie Stringham
Painting classes will be taught using the One Stroke Painting method.

Boy Playing Trumpet Band
6th - 12th grades taught by Mr. Morgan Busch
Students of all skill levels, from advanced to very beginners, participate together and help each other grow. The band regularly performs for school activities and functions.

Study Skills
9th - 12th grades taught by Mrs. Kate Williams
High school students will learn important life skills in reading comprehension, writing, research, and studying.

Bowling
Middle and high school students bowl in a fun, non-competitive environment at the nearby Aloma Bowl.
